I am delighted to welcome you to our school website. Through our website, I hope you learn about the warm, welcoming and creative learning environment we have in Donard National School.
Donard National school is a is a co-educational, vertical school catering from junior infants to 6th class. Our school is situated in the beautiful rural village of Donard surrounded in scenic forest walks and mountains. Our school is a Catholic school under the patronage of the Catholic Archbishop of Dublin.
We welcome children of all faiths and none to our school. Donard National school has grown extensively over the past number of years. In 2008 an extension was built with 3 new classrooms. A further classroom was built alongside a hall extension in 2020. Our school now has over 150 children enrolled. There are 6 mainstream teachers and two learning support teachers.
We promote a positive culture amongst all of the children and adults in our school. Our positive culture is based on the principles of Respect, Honesty, Kindness, Diligence and Happiness. We celebrate all of the unique talents displayed by our children. Our pupils follow the Primary School Curriculum as laid out by the Department of Education & Skills. Our primary aim in the school is to assist every child to reach his/her potential in a caring, safe and encouraging environment.
