Our school has five Green Flags and is currently working on our 6th Green Flag. Under the Green School Environmental Scheme the children are encouraged to reuse and recycle their waste. There is a Green School Committee comprised of Pupils, Parents and Caretaker who oversees the implementation of all Green School Code and encourage all classes to be involved. The school also has a composter where the children are encouraged to correctly dispose of suitable waste such as orange peels, banana skins and pencil sharpenings into compost bins in each classroom. We recycle all drinking bottles. The school has a lovely school garden. Each class is responsible for growing and maintaining one bed. Children will grow a mixture of vegetables, herbs and flowers. From September—October and from March—June children are encouraged to Walk on Wednesdays to school. Senior children may cycle but must wear a helmet. A bicycle rack has been provided.
