Music plays an integral part in the life of the school. It is taught from Infants to Sixth class. Every child is encouraged to read, play and enjoy music. The whole school enjoys a musical get together once a year with the range of instruments from percussion to tin whistle and recorder. Parents and the wider community are invited to this open evening in June each year. Children are encouraged to join Comhaltas Ceoltoirí which has classes in the school every Thursday evenings.
The Music Generation initiative currently allows our students to take lessons in guitar and piano. We also have a choral teacher that visits classes weekly and teaches percussion, notation and choral singing.
